Solicitor-General moves on to High Court

3:51 pm on 21 February 2012

The Government's top lawyer, Solicitor-General David Collins, has been appointed as a High Court judge.

Mr Collins will move to the High Court at Wellington on 16 March.

Recruiting his replacement is expected to take several months, and in the interim an acting Solicitor-General will be appointed.

Mr Collins took over as Solicitor-General in 2006, when he joined the Crown Law Office.
