Air Saipans signs MOU with Germany's Lufthansa

Air Saipan has signed a memorandum of agreement with Lufthansa Consulting of Germany to help it launch operations.

The German-based airline consulting company will assist Air Saipan with general business planning, commercial setup support, and organizational development.

Air Saipan expects to begin service in 2010.

Initially, Air Saipan flights will be chartered and fly to Guangzhou, Shanghai, and possibly Cairns in 2011.

The executive vice president and partner of Lufthansa Consulting, Thilo Schmid, says the business plan of Air Saipan is unique and challenging and the company's excited to work on getting

the airline airborne on time and on budget.

The president and founder of New Era Group Asia LLC, owners of the new airline, Dean Mills, says so far it has a capital of 10 million US dollars that'll double prior to launch.
