Papua New Guinea Prime Minister Peter O'Neill says his government will do all that's necessary to ensure a visit by Prince Charles isn't disrupted by landowner disputes.
Some landowner groups have said in local media they will shut down water to the nation's capital, Port Moresby, and blockade the city's airport when the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall arrive.
Landowners are reportedly demanding 2.17 million US dollars in outstanding compensation from the government for the land where Jackson's Airport is built, following a deal in which they allege they were short-changed.
The Post Courier Newspaper is reporting another group is also threatening to cut water and power supplies to the city.
Mr O'Neill said in a statement on Tuesday night that the government will do all that is necessary to protect these assets, so that the services they provide are not disrupted.
He added he assures the people of Papua New Guinea that the royal visit is on track and will not be disrupted.
