Sport: PNG's Hekari United confident of bouncing back

11:49 am on 6 April 2013

Hekari United Chairman John Kapi Natto says he's confident his team will bounce back in this afternoon's Oceania Champions League football clash with Amicale.

The PNG champions were surprise losers last week in their opening round match against Ba in Port Moresby, while Amicale won away at newcomers Solomon Warriors.

John Kapi Natto says while he's still not quite sure how they managed to lose that game, he's backing the 2010 Oceania champs to return to winning ways.

"After talking and a lot of reassessing and all that from last week I believe and have faith our boys will bounce back and pull together three points. I'm telling the boys, I said nothing is wrong from last year. That same faith and the same belief is still continuing on - we haven't changed our players, we haven't done any major buyings. I'm banking on them and I think we would crack into it and we would fight for the winners or runners-up spot."

Following today's game, Hekari travel to Fiji and Vanuatu for away games from next weekend.
