The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention told the Fiji Times this was doubtful in answer to queries from the paper.

The agency said it had no information suggesting people should avoid travelling to Fiji but it'll notify the public if the situation changes.

Investigations are still ongoing into how Michelle and David Paul died within days of each other while on holiday in Fiji at the end of May.
