Questions over ACC VIP rules

8:06 am on 4 April 2012

An Opposition MP says she will be asking questions about why the Accident Compensation Corporation has special rules for handling cases involving VIPs.

An ACC manual has emerged showing special rules for dealing with MPs, members of the judiciary, ACC board members and the Governor-General.

According to the manual, claims from VIPs must be handled by managers and not case workers.

Green Party MP, Denise Roche told Morning Report that every case is sensitive and MPs should not get preferential treatment.

She said she will raise the issue through Parliament's select committee process.
