Labour call on Families Commissioner to retract or resign

9:47 pm on 16 April 2012

The Labour Party is calling on the Chief Families Commissioner to resign if Carl Davidson does not retract comments about Labour's paid parental leave policy not being affordable.

Labour's associate social development spokesperson and a former Families Commissioner Rajen Prasad says it is not Mr Davidson's place to comment on the affordability of policies.

Rajen Prasad says Mr Davidson's credibility has been damaged by his reported comments and he now has two choices - to retract his comments and say he got it wrong or to resign.
