Another $1m to help Fiji flood recovery

New Zealand will contribute another $1 million towards recovery and reconstruction work in Fiji since the floods there in late March and early April.

Foreign Minister Murray McCully says that brings New Zealand's total contribution to $2.5 million.

He says the Government wants to see flood-affected communities in Fiji rebuild their homes and lives as quickly as possible.

The floods killed five people, forced the evacuation of thousands and destroyed homes, businesses and crops.
