Submissions to the review of the MMP electoral system can be made in sign language.
The Electoral Commission has subscribed to a new signing translation service, Seeflow.
Chief Electoral Officer Robert Peden says information about the review is available in sign language on Seeflow's site, which will also enable deaf people to put together secure video submissions using sign language.
He says those videos will then be translated by registered interpreters and provided in English to the MMP Review.
He says the service is a first for New Zealand is free.
