Foreign Affairs Minister Murray McCully says Labour has made no request for Budget papers it claims are being withheld.
In February, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade announced plans to cut 300 positions; but after a backlash the number was reduced to 79.
Labour foreign affairs spokesperson Phil Goff says foreign affairs papers remain noticeably absent 18 days after Treasury documents on the Budget were made public.
Mr Goff says the reorganisation of MFAT has been a shambles and Mr McCully does not want material made public that would give an insight into his failure.
But Mr McCully says Mr Goff is wrong and his office has not received any request for the Budget information in question.
