ACC Minister Judith Collins has confirmed the iPad of the former chair of the corporation, John Judge, was wiped clean before being returned to ACC.
Ms Collins says Mr Judge's home computer has also been replaced and is no longer accessible.
But she is declining to comment on whether those moves had any impact on the Privacy Commissioner's investigation into how an email from ACC claimant Bronwyn Pullar was leaked to the Herald on Sunday newspaper.
"I've simply asked officials at ACC this week for confirmation that this is what's happened," the minister says.
"That's the information they provided me with and I'm simply passing it on - I make no judgment on it, I'm simply saying that's what I've been advised."
