United Future meets with an eye towards 2014

12:00 pm on 24 August 2012

United Future will begin the process of preparing for the next election when it holds its annual general meeting in Auckland over the weekend of 25-26 August.

The party won 0.6% of the party vote at the last election, and its sole representative in Parliament is its founder and leader, Ohariu MP Peter Dunne.

He has left open the possibility he might retire at the next election, but at the moment he and others are working on the assumption he will stand again.

Mr Dunne says United Future was late getting ready for the last election, and members will be told at the meeting that now is the time to start gearing up for 2014.
