Finance Minister Bill English expects a challenge to the partial privatisation programme to go to the High Court next month but he is confident the Government will win.
Mr English told Radio New Zealand's Nine to Noon programme on Wednesday the Government will consult over the next five weeks with iwi who have interests in the water used by Mighty River Power, the first state-owned power company to be put up for sale.
But despite that consultation, Mr English said court action is still likely.
