PM comfortable with any new Chinese food standards

Prime Minister John Key says he would not be concerned if new food standards were introduced in China.

A report in the China Daily newspaper says China's food safety watchdog plans to introduce tougher regulations on the import and export of dairy products.

The paper cites the recent case of traces of the chemical, dicyandiamide, or DCD, being found in New Zealand dairy exports to China.

Mr Key says New Zealand already has world class food safety standards and has worked with China on theirs.
