Greens disappointed no inquiry on aged care

The Green Party says the Government has blocked another attempt to hold an inquiry into the aged care sector.

Health spokesperson Kevin Hague says National Party members of the health select committee rejected his bid to look at the low wages and varied quality of care in the sector.

Mr Hague says aged care workers are paid less for the same work than carers in other sectors and that needs to change.

Is the second time that the Government has dismissed calls for a broad inquiry into the sector, which is extremely disappointing, he says.
