The Labour Party Leadership roadshow reached its half-way point on Thursday night with about 250 party members attending a meeting in Hamilton.
Grant Robertson, Shane Jones and David Cunliffe each spoke for 10 minutes before taking questions from the floor.
All three spoke of wanting to unite the Labour Party in its bid to oust the National-led government.
Party members were able to cast their vote in a ballot box during the evening, or wait and go online to vote.
The candidates will go to Nelson and Wellington on Saturday.
The final meeting is in Christchurch next Tuesday and the result will be announced on 15 September.
