Three new primary schools to be built

7:26 pm on 24 September 2013

The Government has announced three new primary schools to be built in South Auckland, Hamilton north and Queenstown, to open in 2015.

They will be accompanied by 65 new classrooms to meet a growing school population in areas including Auckland.

Education Minister Hekia Parata says the sites were chosen to match population and roll growth.

Ms Parata says building the new schools and classrooms will cost $70 million; money that was set aside in the Budget.
