Prime Minister John Key may pay another visit to the White House to see the United States President Barack Obama.
The possible visit was let slip by Defence Minister Jonathan Coleman when he was speaking about progress in the relationship between New Zealand and the US at a news conference in Washington on Monday.
Dr Coleman said New Zealand ministers have been made to feel welcome in America, and he was looking forward to Mr Key potentially being able to visit Washington in the first half of 2014.
A spokesperson for John Key says he may visit Mr Obama next year, but no arrangements have been put in place.
Mr Key last made an official visit to the White House in July 2011.
