Deputy Prime Minister Bill English and four other ministers will attend the Australian New Zealand leadership forum in Sydney on Wednesday.
The ninth forum brings together senior politicians and business and academic leaders.
Mr English said one of the objectives of this year's forum is to discuss ways the two countries can work together to take advantage of opportunities in Asia.
He said the meeting will also be an opportunity for ministers to meet their Australian counterparts to talk about how they can make more progress towards a single trans-Tasman economic market.
The other ministers attending the forum are Steven Joyce, Tim Groser, Craig Foss and Murray McCully.
