The Green Party accuses police of having two different standards when it comes to investigating complaints about the interception of private communications.
A summary has been issued of the police investigation into the Government Communications Security Bureau's illegal surveillance of internet entrepreneur Kim Dotcom.
Green co-leader Russel Norman said it shows the bureau did not fully co-operate and police exerted little effort in carrying it out.
Dr Norman said that was in stark contrast to a vigorous investigation of a cameraman who recorded the teapot tape of Prime Minister John Key in conversation with ACT candidate John Banks in 2011.
