The State Services Commissioner is reminding everyone working in the public sector of the need for political neutrality in election year.
Iain Rennie has released the 2014 General Election Guidelines for the state sector.
He says although the election date has not yet been set, he wants to make sure all state sector employees are clear about their rights and responsibilities.
The guidelines cover responsibilities such as loyalty to the government of the day, and successive governments, and maintaining public confidence in public agencies.
It includes a video modelled on the TV series The Office with commission staff talking about keeping politics out of their jobs.
