The Green Party has accused the Government of trying to minimise electricity price rises by changing the way they are reported.
Energy Minister Simon Bridges says from now on the Government will no longer publish the advertised rates for power.
Instead Mr Bridges says it will publish what consumers actually pay, including discounts and benefits.
But Greens' co-leader Russel Norman says under the change it will be the electricity companies providing information about their prices and they have a strong interest in under reporting any rises.
