The Government is ordering further work on a review of broadcasting, telecommunications and the internet.
Public submissions were earlier sought on a discussion document.
Now officials will look at future ways to regulate content and network issues.
There will also be a review around access to premium broadcasting content, such as sports events of national significance.
That will also look at access for broadcasters to networks and platforms.
Officials will also examine options for enhancing public service broadcasting, and content standards for the new media such as the internet where none currently exist.
