National misinformed on 'three strikes' policy - ACT

6:46 pm on 10 November 2008

ACT says the incoming government has been misinformed about its "three strikes and you're out" policy for violent offenders.

As part of his 100-day plan, Prime Minister-elect John Key has pledged to crack down on crime.

New ACT MP David Garrett says National and ACT's law and order policies are very similar.

But Mr Garrett says Mr Key has been advised that the "three strikes" policy could extend to minor offences, which is wrong.
