In Focus - Prime Minister Bill English says re-entering the Pike River mine is not a political but a technical decision.
A group of families will today unveil a new re-entry plan, which they hope will convince the government it is safe to try to retrieve any bodies or evidence in the mine's drift.
Twenty-nine men died after an explosion in the mine in 2010 but their bodies have never been recovered.
Mr English told Morning Report's Susie Ferguson he would meet with Pike River families but that couldn't occur today.
