The Government has announced a boost in funding for research into the gender pay gap.
Previously the Government scrapped a pay and employment equity unit at the Department of Labour, which was set up to improve pay and look at the reasons for the gender gap.
The unit employed seven staff and cost of $2 million per year.
Women's Affairs Minister Pansy Wong has announced the Ministry of Women's Affairs will receive $500,000 per year to provide advice on the pay gap and other employment-related issues.
