Separate funding mooted for agencies working with Maori families

The Government is considering making separate funding available in next year's Budget for agencies working with Maori families.

A Whanau Ora Taskforce, set up earlier this year to look at developing new policy on delivering services to Maori, is due to report back early next year.

The project is a key objective of the Maori Party and co-leader Pita Sharples says talks are continuing between ministers on the possibility of specific funding in the 2010 Budget.
