NZ First to decide caucus line-up in New Year

6:11 am on 20 December 2011

New Zealand First MPs will wait until early next year before deciding on key caucus positions.

The eight MPs met in their caucus room at Parliament for the first time last Thursday, and will hold their second caucus meeting on Tuesday.

Party leader Winston Peters says the deputy leadership will not be decided until the end of March, to give the MPs time to familiarise themselves with the role.

He says portfolio allocations will be considered over the Christmas break.
