Teens arrested over Wellington robbery

Police in Wellington have arrested two youths in connection with a convenience store robbery early this morning.

The incident occurred at about 2am at a shop on Manners street in the central city.

Police said the male shop employee was assaulted with a pipe-like weapon before money was taken from the register.

The two youths, both aged 16, and would appear in the Wellington Youth Court later this morning.

Police were still looking for three other youths believed to also be involved in the robbery and were appealing for information from the public that could lead to further arrests.
