A man has been seriously injured after falling 30 metres from a tree in Otaki, north of Wellington, this evening.

The man, believed to be in his twenties 20s, suffered serious head injuries in the fall.
Paramedics treated him before he was flown to Wellington Hospital by rescue helicopter.
