A body pulled from the Waikato River in Hamilton today has been identified as a man missing since Saturday.
Hamilton Police said it was that of 23-year-old Hepisipa Tupou who got into difficulty while swimming across the river.
He was trying to swim across the river near Jellicoe Drive with a friend, police said.
They said they had received 111 calls at about 7am today and their rescue boat recovered a body 30 minutes later.
Police said they were not aware of any other missing people.
