A woman has pleaded guilty to kidnapping an eight-week-old baby in Hamilton in October.
The 18-year-old, who has interim name suppression, originally pleaded not guilty, but in the Hamilton District Court today she changed her plea.
The baby boy was taken from his cot in a Frankton house on 31 October and was missing for just over an hour before a member of the public brought him to the city's central police station.
The woman remains on bail with a curfew to an Auckland address and, because of the charge, the judge issued a first-strike warning to her.
She will be sentenced on 25 March.
