Three people have been charged over an attack on a man that left an iron bar lodged in his head.
Adam Armitage was attacked while sitting in his car in Katikati in Bay of Plenty in January.
He then drove to a local petrol station to ask for help, with the bar still in his head.
Police said a 21-year-old man had been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Another 21-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman have been charged with assault.
They will appear in the Tauranga District Court on Thursday.
