Timothy Foley is accused at the High Court in Christchurch of killing Michelle Lawrence in 2012.

An attempt to bring him to trial last year was aborted and the jury was dismissed with the judge suppressing the reasons why.

Ms Lawrence, who was 41, died three weeks after being admitted to hospital with serious injuries.

The reason for this morning's adjournment was dealt with in chambers and can not be reported.
