Police are investigating the death of a man whose throat was cut when he went through a ranchslider at a Hamilton property yesterday afternoon.
After being taken to Waikato Hospital in a critical condition, the 23-year-old died in surgery.
Detective Senior Sergeant Daryl Smith said the death at the Tattersfield Place address in the suburb of Dinsdale was likely the result of a domestic dispute.
"We've kicked off an investigation, there's a scene examination underway."
Mr Smith said police want to hear from any Dinsdale residents from around Tattersfield Place who may have seen or heard anything of interest.
St John Ambulance said neighbours who found the man lying in the driveway performed CPR, but he went into cardiac arrest.
St John said witnesses reported the man had gone through a ranchslider and suffered a puncture wound to his neck.
The cordoned-off address is being forensically examined.
