A 60-year-old Whangarei man is defending a charge of murdering his son.
Phillip James Beazley entered a plea of not guilty when he appeared in court in Whangarei this week.
He has been accused of fatally stabbing his son Leonard Nigel Kingi, who was 25, when the pair got into a fight at a Tikipunga house on 26 January.
Mr Beazley has been remanded in custody for a case review hearing in April.
