Dunedin police say a party that spiralled out of control in Mosgiel on Saturday night kept officers busy for several hours.
The party was intended to be for up to 20 teenagers, but that swelled to about 200 people.
Police were alerted by a parent, and the party was shut down, but it spilled out into nearby Memorial Park, where some partygoers began fighting and smashing bottles.
Two teenagers were arrested and returned to their parents, while others ran off when a police prisoner van showed up.
Police said Dunedin City Council staff had to help clean up a lot of broken glass ahead of a children's sports event in the park yesterday.
