Muslims will take up full representation at the Wellington Council of Christians and Jews, which will re-launch as the Wellington Abrahamic Council at an event at Parliament on 14 April.

The council's Jewish co-chair, Dave Moskovitz, said the three religions shared a great deal of common history, theology, ethics, and practice.

The council's aim is to increase understanding and trust between the three faiths.

The Chief Executive of the Federation of Islamic Associations, Sultan Eusoff, will become the council's Muslim co-chair.
