The police in Auckland are looking for a man who they say viciously assaulted a couple at their home in Onehunga last night.
They said the woman arrived home about nine-thirty and was approached by a man when she got out of her car.
She cried out for help and when her husband came to her aid he was badly assaulted and knocked unconscious.
The police said the offender then viciously assaulted the woman and drove off in her car.
Both victims have been taken to hospital with a range of injuries and possibly broken jaws.
