The police say a car stolen from an Auckland couple after they were beaten unconscious last week was then used to ram a car that had children inside.
A man and woman were hospitalised after the attack outside their Mount Smart Road home on Saturday night.
Police said within an hour of that, their car was twice deliberately driven into another car, which had a couple and their children inside.
It happened at the Z petrol station on the corner of Alfriston and Great South Roads in Manurewa.
