Police investigating the assault of an elderly Auckland couple are trying to find three people who they say were with the man who did it.
The man and woman were beaten unconscious outside their Onehunga home on Saturday.
Police said their attacker was seen at the corner of Felix Street and Mt Smart Road just beforehand.
They said two women and a man were with him at that time but it was not known how they were associated.
The assault on the couple was vicious and they are traumatised and still recovering, police said.
The couple's stolen Toyota Vitz has since been located and was being forensically examined.
