A Korean man detained on remand for nearly four years in Mount Eden prison has failed in his latest of a series of bids for freedom.

Kyung-Yup Kim - a permanent New Zealand resident - is wanted in China, which sought his extradition in 2011, in relation to the death of a woman in Shanghai in 2009.
Mr Kim has lodged a series of court actions against the request, claiming he has been detained without a hearing, lawyer or legal aid.
But, in a decision released today, the Supreme Court said the warrant under which Mr Kim is being held was issued validly and his application for leave to appeal has been dismissed.
