An unmanned rubbish truck has crashed into an Auckland heritage building that houses a vet clinic.

The truck crashed into the Normanby Road Vet Clinic in Mt Eden about 5am.
Vet nurse Louise Dilly said the vehicle had brake problems and rolled into the brick building, smashing glass doors and damaging the brickwork.
No one was injured and the truck was towed away.
Ms Dilly says one cat was in the clinic at the time but it was not harmed .
Customers were having to use the back door.
