The body found on Mission Bay beach in Auckland yesterday has been identified as that of a 21 year old international student.
Police said Manjeet Singh had been living in Auckland while on a student visa.
It is believed he had been in the Britomart area just after 1am yesterday.
The police said they were still working to find out who he was with on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.
