The Corrections Department says a prisoner who was hospitalised after a suspected attack has been returned to Rimutaka Prison and is reported to be in good health.

The man was injured at the prison yesterday and airlifted to Wellington Hospital for assessment and treatment.
The prison's acting manager Audrey Koti said the matter was referred to police for investigation and those involved may face charges.
