No charges for school bus driver

9:12 pm on 8 June 2015

The police say the driver at the centre of a wild school bus ride in west Auckland last month won't face criminal charges.

There were about 60 students on the bus from Green Bay High and Glen Eden Intermediate and some leapt off the bus as it was still moving.

The bus company Ritchies and the Ministry of Education responded by standing down the driver.

The police said the incident was the result of a combination of factors, and they have since spoken to all parties involved to ensure prevent a similar event from reoccurring.
