Two people had to be pulled free from their cars after a crash in Christchurch early this morning, and both have been taken to hospital in a serious condition.
St John Ambulance says the crash happened on the corner of Ferry Rd and Ensors Rd about 3.30am.
In total five people were injured, but three were treated at the scene.
