Adam Kearns was found guilty in May of assault with intent to injure during a fight outside a Queenstown strip club last year.

Appearing today in the Invercargill District Court, he was sentenced to four months' home detention and 250 hours' community work.

He is already serving home detention for firearms and drugs offences.

Kearns's mother, Helen Milner, was dubbed the Black Widow after being convicted for the murder of her husband, Philip Nisbet.

She is serving a term of life imprisonment.
