State Highway 1 has re-opened to traffic south of Warkworth after an earlier crash.
Two cars collided just after midday between Woodcocks Road and Mckinney Road.
Four people were taken to hospital, one with serious injuries.
Traffic is now moving through lanes in both directions but there are still delays.
