Police have named the 66-year-old patient who died after an ambulance crashed in Northland.
He was Sonny Rawhiti Kemp, from Kaeo.
The ambulance hit a power pole near Moerewa yesterday morning.
A paramedic remains in a satisfactory condition in Whangärei Hospital.
Police said they were continuing to investigate the crash and St John is carrying out a standard internal review.
